POLIIICE EU Project

POLIIICE vision is to advance European LEAs to a novel lawful interception (LI), investigation and intelligence era in which they will be able to effectively prevent, detect and investigate crime and terrorism amid the new age of communication (5G&Beyond, end-to-end encrypted communication and Quantum based encryption). These new age technologies turn legacy LI solutions to totally in-effective and therefore put significant risk on Europe’s fight against crime and terrorism. POLIIICE will offer, research, validate and demonstrate array of innovative LI measures at cloud & network level as well as at edge device level that together will enable LEAs to efficiently overcome the new age challenges and enable high throughput of its LI. POLIIICE is designed for ensuring the cost-effectiveness, security and integrity of the new age LI and will provide the legal and ethical framework for each of its measures while strictly complying with privacy preserving and ethics rules of operation. POLIIICE will contribute to the LI standardization and will recommend EU regulation changes for effective adaptation of POLIIICE vision and innovative LI measures.

SafeHorizon

SafeHorizon is a Horizon Europe project addressing the emerging threat of Crime-as-a-Service (CaaS) by gathering and analysing intelligence from multiple sources, including the clear web, deep web, dark web, public data dumps, and law enforcement datasets. By combining these data sources with machine learning technologies, the project aims to extract actionable evidence for legal and operational use. SafeHorizon will provide Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), CERTs, and CSIRTs with a comprehensive toolbox of newly developed and enhanced open-source solutions designed to be user-friendly and easily adaptable.

SECUR-EU

SECUR-EU is a European cybersecurity project focused on protecting critical infrastructures and SMEs from growing cyber threats while promoting a shared culture of cybersecurity awareness across Europe. The project supports the adoption of open-source security solutions, strengthens Cyber Threat Intelligence through AI, and advances ethical hacking through the HackOlympics initiative. Its goal is to make effective cybersecurity tools and practices more accessible, practical, and widely adopted.

TESSERA - Towards thE dataSetS for the European secuRity dAta space for innovation

The European Security Data Space for Innovation (EU SDSI) is recognised as the cornerstone for implementing the European Data Strategy in the security domain, aiming at Europe’s data sovereignty, while having as ultimate goal to increase trust in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by Law Enforcement. In this context, TESSERA aims to conduct the preparatory work towards high-quality large-scale trusted and shareable datasets based on identified operational use cases and associated AI technologies, thus supporting the vision for the EU SDSI. TESSERA places particular focus on analysing and defining the requirements ensuring the interoperability and shareability of heterogeneous datasets, whilst considering their compliance to privacy preservation and fundamental human rights protection. TESSERA also aims to specify the low-level architecture of the data-related national components of the EU SDSI, including requirements related to user management, data access, and exchange, whilst also considering their interconnectivity and deployment in the EU SDSI. To this end, TESSERA builds upon and complements past and ongoing initiatives and EU-funded projects with relevant outcomes, while also fostering the engagement with and involvement of relevant stakeholders.

CryptoACTION

CryptoACTION represents Europe’s most ambitious attempt to date in equipping LEAs with mission-appropriate tools to support investigations pertaining to Cryptocurrency-Facilitated Crime and Terrorism (CFCT) activities, improve investigation operations including external collaboration workflows and provide comprehensive training curricula for LEAs/ prosecutors/judiciary and the world’s first cryptorange. It will deliver an ecosystem of independent but interoperable lawful-investigation tools offering AI co-piloting capabilities to enhance investigator efficiency and supporting the intelligent corelation of blockchain data, structured data from anti-CFCT databases, text, audio and visual data modalities, stemming from lawful surveillance activities and darknet/deepnet/clearnet scraping.
